“You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give to you.”
John 15:16

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
John 15:4-5
I don’t believe Jesus is asking His disciples or us to abide in Him and ask for things that are opposite from His purpose. If He is the vine and we are the branches then that would mean His purpose will dictate the fruit we bare.
The branch of an apple tree does not decide between bearing apples or oranges. No. If the vine is attached to an apple tree…then it will have no choice but to bear apples. So I ask myself this today….what vine or root am I attaching myself to? I guess I could find that answer by taking a look at the kind of questions I am asking Him. Be Well.
