This might be total surprise to you, but the other day I walked into Outback Steakhouse sat down and this is what they brought me :

Then the next day went to a Mexican Restaurant sat down and they brought this “bloomin onion” to the table :
…..weird right? It should be weird. To be honest this did not happen in real life, but it is happening all over the world in various ways.
I will give you a perfect example. I work for a worship label…a very specific type and style of music. Not rock. Not hip-hop. Not jazz. WORSHIP. So everything we do from our marketing plans, tours, publicity, or even song development..is geared toward that community and to build it up…make it fresh…give it resource…and keep it moving forward. So why would any band or artist expect anything different? My job is to set the right expectations for everyone involved so each person knows what their getting into. What did you expect this company to do or be when you signed up? TRL/MTV is not even on our radar as much as we are not on the radar of TRL/MTV. That doesn’t mean we don’t keep up with culture or changes, but we know what kind of food we serve and what our customer expects.
So I ask you this…what type of restaurant are you running and does the food you serve reflect what the customer expects when they sit down to eat?
